Mustang Convertible
The convertible has been part of the Mustang from day one — it was one of the two body styles at the April 1964 launch, alongside the hardtop. It ran continuously through the end of the first generation in 1973, then disappeared: the Pinto-based Mustang II (1974–1978) offered no convertible at all, and neither did the early Fox-body. The drop-top returned for 1983, the first time since 1973, and has been a fixture of every generation since — the SN95, S197, S550, and current S650 have all offered a convertible alongside the coupe. That makes 1974–1982 the only true gap in convertible availability across the Mustang's history.
