The 2015 model year
Overview
The sixth-generation Mustang (chassis code S550) was a ground-up redesign and the most significant rethink of the car since 1964. Independent rear suspension became standard across the Mustang lineup, and the platform supported factory right-hand-drive models for worldwide sale. The core engine lineup spanned a new 2.3 L turbocharged EcoBoost four, a carryover-architecture 3.7 L V6, and an updated 5.0 L "Coyote" V8.
