The 2008 model year

Overview

The Bullitt returned. Inspired by the 1968 Steve McQueen film car, the 2008 Bullitt paired a 315 hp version of the 4.6 3-valve V8 with Highland Green (or black) paint, blacked-out trim, and badge delete. The base V6 (210 hp), GT (300 hp), and GT500 (500 hp) continued.

Year over year

What changed

  • Bullitt model introduced — 315 hp 4.6 3-valve V8, unique intake/exhaust tuning, 3.73:1 rear axle, badge-delete styling.
  • Bullitt offered in Dark Highland Green or black.
  • Mechanically the V6, GT, and GT500 carried over.

Worth knowing

Notable

  • Bullitt revival — a sought-after S197 collector trim with the Highland Green / blacked-out look.
  • GT/CS California Special continued.

Living with it

Reliability & ownership notes

  • The Bullitt's engine is a tuned version of the standard 3-valve V8 — same cam-phaser/spark-plug service watch items.
  • GT500's 5.4 supercharged V8 benefits from cooling attention; the factory rating is conservative.

Current market value

We don't publish a market estimate for the 2008 model year yet. A valuation ships here only when it can be sourced and dated — we'd rather show nothing than a number we can't stand behind.
