The long-running Fox-body, built on Ford’s Fox platform from 1979 to 1993.

The 1988 model year

Overview

A near-pure carryover of the 1987 aero car. The 225-hp 5.0 and the 2.3 four returned essentially unchanged. The notable under-the-hood point: most 1988 5.0s used speed-density engine management, but California-market cars adopted the mass-air system a year early. (Horsepower figures are SAE net.)
