The 2025 model year
Overview
A continuation year for the S650. The core lineup — EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse, in fastback or convertible — carried over largely unchanged. The headline news was the badged 60th Anniversary package, a limited GT Premium edition marking the Mustang's six decades, and the debut of the extreme, track-bred Mustang GTD halo car. (The 2024 car launched in the Mustang's 60th year; the actual anniversary edition is a 2025 model.)

Year over year
What changed
- 60th Anniversary package: limited to 1,965 units, all GT Premium fastback or convertible, with bespoke 60th badges inspired by the 1965 cloisonné emblem, exclusive 20-inch wheels, a revised grille, smoked Nite Pony headlights, and serialized instrument-panel badges.
- New Intense Lime Yellow Metallic paint (a nod to 1960s Lime Gold) joined the palette; four older colors were dropped.
- Mustang GTD launched: a homologation-bred supercar with a 5.2L Predator supercharged V8 (815 hp), rear transaxle, and a 200+ mph top speed — sold in tiny numbers at a price far above the rest of the range.
- Core EcoBoost / GT / Dark Horse powertrains and body styles carried over from 2024.
Worth knowing
Notable
- The 60th Anniversary edition is the collector standout of the year — capped at 1,965 cars, a deliberate nod to the 1965 model year.
- The GTD is the most extreme factory Mustang ever and the new performance halo; no Shelby variant was offered on the S650.
Living with it
Reliability & ownership notes
- Still too new for a documented long-term reliability record.
- Same early caveat as 2024 on the MT-82 manual (notchy/balky shifts) in EcoBoost and GT cars; the Dark Horse's Tremec is the more track-durable unit.

Current market value
We don't publish a market estimate for the 2025 model year yet. A valuation ships here only when it can be sourced and dated — we'd rather show nothing than a number we can't stand behind.
