Overview

The current Mustang. Code-named S650, the seventh generation arrived for 2024 built on a heavily revised evolution of the S550 platform rather than a clean-sheet chassis, and landed as the Mustang neared its 60th anniversary. Its headline is what Ford kept rather than cut: a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 and a manual gearbox survived even as most rivals went electric or automatic-only, making it one of the last V8, stick-shift muscle cars. The lineup pairs a reworked 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo four with the 5.0 V8, adds a track-focused Dark Horse as the range-topping gas model, and moves to a fully digital twin-screen cockpit. (The electric Mustang Mach-E is a separate model and is not part of this generation.)
