Overview
For 1981, Ford offered Thunderbird, Town Landau, and the new top-line Heritage. The regular Thunderbird and Town Landau standardized a 3.3-liter inline-six with SelectShift and offered the 4.2-liter V8; Heritage standardized the 4.2. Automatic Overdrive was available with the 4.2 and required with the optional 5.0-liter V8.
