Overview
The Thunderbird was redesigned for 1967 as a larger personal-luxury car. Ford replaced the convertible with two painted- or vinyl-roof two-door hardtops and introduced the nameplate's first four-door sedan, whose rear-hinged rear doors sat beneath a formal vinyl roof.
