The 2022 model year

Overview

The 2022 Charger retained eight regular retail models from SXT through the 797-hp SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody, then added the separately orderable 807-hp Redeye Widebody Jailbreak. Jailbreak unlocked factory combinations that Dodge had previously restricted rather than introducing a new body or engine family. The police catalog continued the exact V6-AWD and V8-RWD matrix introduced for 2021.

  • SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody Jailbreak joined the range with 807 hp and expanded factory personalization.
  • HEMI Orange and SRT Black appearance packages debuted but did not create separate powertrain models.
  • A factory intrusion module became available as part of Dodge's expanded theft-deterrence program.
  • The Pursuit range continued as V6 AWD and V8 RWD; neither opposite drivetrain pairing was cataloged.

Reliability & ownership notes

  • Jailbreak's 807-hp calibration is not interchangeable with the regular 797-hp Redeye calibration; engine-control and powertrain parts require VIN verification.
  • Pursuit V6 and V8 use opposite drivetrains, so fleet driveline, suspension and transmission fitment must be checked by CPOS/VIN.
  • Scat Pack Widebody remains an option package, making wheel, tire, suspension and body-panel fitment build-specific.
  • HEMI Orange and SRT Black are appearance packages and should not be used alone to infer engine or chassis hardware.
