XPeng X9 History
History
The X9 was unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2023 and entered customer deliveries in China in January 2024 as XPeng's most expensive and most feature-rich model. The full-size seven-seat MPV targets the premium end of China's booming large-electric-MPV segment (against models like the Denza D9), positioned above 400,000 CNY in its highest trim.
The X9 Ultra variant, launched in 2024, introduced rear-wheel steering to the MPV class, improving low-speed maneuverability and high-speed stability. It is fitted with XPeng's flagship XNGP autonomous-driving system including LiDAR, and features a lay-flat second-row seat configuration designed for executive passengers.
