History
The Mona M03 (branded simply as 'MONA M03') debuted in July 2024 and launched for sale on 27 August 2024, with deliveries beginning later that month. Its origins are unusual: the platform was originally developed by DiDi Global's Da Vinci automotive division starting in 2021; XPeng acquired that project in August 2023 and completed it as the founding vehicle of a new, more affordable 'Mona' sub-brand. Priced from approximately 119,800 CNY (~$16,800 USD), it slots well below XPeng's established P7 and targets mainstream Chinese compact-car buyers.
The M03 is a 5-door liftback sedan 4,780 mm long with a 2,815 mm wheelbase, achieving a claimed drag coefficient of Cd 0.194 — presented as the lowest among mass-produced electric hatchbacks at launch. Battery options are 51.8 kWh or 62.2 kWh LFP, with CLTC range of 515–620 km. Sales were immediate and large: 30,000 units delivered by mid-November 2024, 48,609 total in 2024, and over 175,000 in 2025, making the M03 XPeng's highest-volume model and a key driver of the brand's sales recovery.
