WM Motor W6 History

The Weltmeister W6's design was first previewed by the Evolve Concept at Auto Shanghai 2019. Mass production began in January 2021. A compact SUV at 4,620 mm long on a 2,715 mm wheelbase, the W6 used a 160 kW front motor and a 65 kWh battery offering 520 km or 620 km of NEDC range depending on variant.

The W6's standout feature was its collaboration with Baidu's Apollo autonomous driving platform, giving the vehicle genuine unmanned parking capability — a first for a WM Motor product. The system used a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset, 5G connectivity, seven cameras, five radars, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. A later 2022 version added three LiDAR sensors and an Nvidia Orin X chip, though volume was minimal given WM Motor's financial difficulties. Production ended when the company shut down all manufacturing at the close of 2022.
