Alfa Romeo Stelvio History
History
Unveiled at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Stelvio is Alfa Romeo's first production SUV in over a century of existence, built on the same Giorgio platform as the Giulia sedan. Deliveries in Italy began in early 2017 after the European press launch at the March 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
The Stelvio Quadrifoglio, announced at the same LA Auto Show, carries the Ferrari-developed 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 (503 hp) and on 29 September 2017 set a Nürburgring production-SUV lap record of 7 minutes 51.7 seconds. The standard Stelvio uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder. It earned a five-star Euro NCAP result in 2017 with a 97% adult-protection score.
