Alfa Romeo Giulia (105 series) History

The Giulia TI was unveiled on 27 June 1962 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza — famously introduced on a race track to announce its performance intent. Its lightweight body achieved a drag coefficient of 0.34, remarkable for a production sedan of that era, and its twin-cam 1,570 cc engine produced around 92 PS, enough for a top speed exceeding 170 km/h.

The 105-series Giulia became the foundation of Alfa Romeo's most celebrated model family: the same platform underpinned the gorgeous Giulia Sprint GT coupé, the Duetto Spider, and the Giulia GTA race car. The Berlina sedan remained in production until 1978, and by then had established the twin-cam engine philosophy that Alfa Romeo would pursue until 1994.
