History

The Weltmeister E5 was the first sedan and the first model from the company's economy 'E' sub-series, aimed at budget private buyers and, notably, the growing Chinese ride-hailing fleet market. Announced in 2021 and reaching dealerships that same year, the E5 was priced from CNY 150,100 to 160,100 (approximately $23,200–$24,800 at launch).

The E5 used a 122 kW (163 hp) front electric motor paired with a 58.6 kWh battery delivering up to 505 km of NEDC range, with a 0–100 km/h time of 8.9 seconds. At 4,718 mm long on a 2,810 mm wheelbase, it was spacious relative to its entry price. The interior was deliberately pared back — no integrated multimedia system — to keep the purchase price low and operating costs minimal for fleet operators. Production ceased at the end of 2022 when WM Motor halted all manufacturing ahead of its bankruptcy filing.
