Perodua Kenari History

Launched in 2000, the Kenari (Malay for 'canary') was based on the second-generation Daihatsu Move and brought a distinctly tall, upright body to the Malaysian market — a shape that gave it unusually generous headroom and cargo space relative to its footprint.

Powered by a 990 cc three-cylinder engine, the Kenari was positioned above the entry-level Kancil and appealed to urban buyers who valued practicality over sportiness. It was sold alongside the Kelisa until both were replaced by the Viva in 2007; the Kenari itself ran until 2009.
