History

The Li MEGA was officially launched and opened for order on March 1, 2024, marking Li Auto's entry into the pure battery-electric segment after years of EREV exclusivity. It is a full-size seven-seat MPV built on an 800-volt platform with the jointly developed Li Auto–CATL Qilin 5C battery (102.7 kWh), supporting 500 km of CLTC range from a 12-minute charge at Li Auto's proprietary 5C superchargers.

With a drag coefficient of 0.215 — claimed to be the lowest of any mass-produced MPV — the MEGA trades on aerodynamic efficiency and technological prestige. Dual motors produce 400 kW (536 hp) with a 0–100 km/h time of 5.5 seconds. Priced at RMB 559,800 at launch (approximately USD 77,770), it is Li Auto's most expensive model by a wide margin and targets the premium family-hauler market dominated in China by Toyota Alphard buyers.

Sales in 2024 totalled 10,798 units — modest compared with the L-series volume, reflecting the MEGA's position as a high-prestige, lower-volume flagship rather than a mainstream product. An updated MEGA launched in April 2025.
