Li Auto Li i8 History

Launched officially on July 29, 2025, with deliveries beginning August 20, 2025, the Li i8 is the first SUV in Li Auto's i-series — the brand's fully electric (non-EREV) product family, distinguished from the range-extender L-series. It is a six-seat mid-size crossover on an 800V platform, offered with 90.1 kWh or 97.8 kWh battery options delivering CLTC ranges of 670 km and 720 km respectively.

The i8 shares its visual DNA with the Li MEGA and is positioned as a premium family SUV for urban buyers with reliable access to fast charging. Three trims (Pro, Max, Ultra) span RMB 321,800 to RMB 369,800 (approximately USD 44,700–51,300). Its launch marked Li Auto's intent to build a parallel pure-BEV lineup alongside the EREV L-series rather than transitioning away from range-extenders entirely.
