History

Unveiled online on March 8, 2022 and officially launched on June 21, 2022, the L9 was Li Auto's first purpose-built successor to the Li ONE and immediately took the position of the brand's premium flagship. It sits on a larger platform than the Li ONE, offering three rows and six seats in a full-size body.

The L9 uses the same EREV architecture as the rest of the L-series: a 1.5-litre range extender charges a lithium iron phosphate battery driving dual motors for a total of 330 kW (443 hp) and all-wheel drive. Claimed total range in EREV mode exceeds 1,400 km. The cabin targets family buyers with a dual-screen rear entertainment system, a refrigerator, and a five-seat fold-flat configuration.

The L9 was refreshed alongside the rest of the L-series in May 2025 with updated powertrain tuning and revised interior screens, retaining the same EREV underpinnings. It remains in production as of 2026.
