History
Introduced in 2005, the Range Rover Sport (L320) slotted below the full-size Range Rover as a lower, more dynamic, more affordable take on the luxury-SUV theme, quickly becoming one of Land Rover's best-sellers. The second generation (L494, 2013–2022) switched to a lighter aluminium architecture and spawned the high-performance SVR.
The current third generation (L461) arrived for 2022, sharing its platform with the fifth-generation Range Rover and adding electrified powertrains alongside the V8 performance flagships.
