History
Named after the Spanish fighting-bull region, the Jarama replaced the Islero for 1970 as a short-wheelbase 2+2 with dramatic Marcello Gandini styling by Bertone and the 3.9-litre V12. It was designed to be more aerodynamically efficient than its predecessors.
Built in two versions — the Jarama GT (1970–1972, 177 examples) and the higher-output Jarama GTS (1972–1976, approximately 150 examples) — the Jarama was the last of Lamborghini's traditional front-engine V12 GTs before the marque concentrated entirely on mid-engine cars.
