Lamborghini 350 GT History

After the 350 GTV show car debuted at the 1963 Turin Auto Show — with a dummy engine, as the real unit wasn't ready — Lamborghini refined the design into the 350 GT, which entered production in 1964 with a genuine Giotto Bizzarrini-designed DOHC V12 producing 270 hp. It was the company's first production automobile.

Only 118 examples of the 350 GT were built before it gave way to the larger-engined 400 GT in 1966. The car established the template Lamborghini would follow throughout the 1960s: a front-mounted V12, elegant coachwork (styled by Touring of Milan), and performance to match Ferrari's road cars.
