Jetour X70 History

The X70 was unveiled at Jetour's brand launch on January 22, 2018, riding a new iPeL platform (intelligent platform of e-network and lightweight) co-developed with Chery. Production began in March 2018, and the initial lineup offered 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder power through a six-speed manual or six-speed dual-clutch automatic.

A significant mid-cycle refresh arrived in August 2019, expanding the trim structure to nine levels and adding a larger 1.6-litre turbo option producing around 197 PS. The X70 measures roughly 4,720 mm long on a 2,745 mm wheelbase — comparable in footprint to a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport — and was equipped with features such as a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, 360-degree camera system, panoramic sunroof, and standard LED headlights from upper trims.

An upmarket derivative, the X70 Plus, followed in 2022 as a more premium second-generation variant, while the X70M and the X70 Coupe (a fastback body-style variant) extended the nameplate family. The X70 remains Jetour's backbone model and played the central role in the brand reaching its one-millionth vehicle milestone in January 2024.
