History
The Jaecoo J8 (originally unveiled as the 'Jaecoo 9') is a rebadged Chery Tiggo 9, introduced in the Chinese market in March 2023 and making its global debut in Qatar in October 2023. The Tiggo 9 underpinning it is positioned as the range-topping model of Chery's Tiggo family, and the J8 badge was adopted for export markets to align with Jaecoo's 'J-number' naming convention. It is available in five-seat and three-row seven-seat configurations.
Power comes from a Kunpeng 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol inline-four producing 261 hp (195 kW) and 400 N·m of torque, paired with an Aisin eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive. A PHEV variant — the J8 SHS — was launched in 2025, combining the 2.0-litre turbo with an electric motor for a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds and a CLTC combined range of up to 1,300 km. The J8 received a significant facelift for 2026, gaining restyled bodywork and a new interior.
