The Jaecoo J5 was previewed in October 2024 as the brand's fourth and smallest model, targeting buyers who want Jaecoo's outdoor-adventure aesthetic at a lower price point than the J6 or J7. The battery-electric variant debuted in Indonesia in February 2025, with a mild-hybrid SHS-H version following in 2026. The J5 extends Jaecoo's lineup downward into the subcompact segment, a segment critical for volume in emerging markets across Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
