History

The Geely Binyue debuted in China on 22 August 2018, reaching 100,000 sales within nine months of launch. Sold internationally as the Coolray, it expanded into the Philippines (September 2019), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and dozens of other markets, becoming Geely's most globally ubiquitous export model. Built on the B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA), the Coolray offered a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine, a dual-clutch transmission, and a feature-rich cabin at a competitive price.

The Coolray passed the milestone of one million global units and by 2025 was available in more than 50 countries across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas — a scale of global reach that few Chinese-brand models had achieved before it.
