Deepal S09 History

Pre-sales for the S09 were opened at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show in April, with customer deliveries beginning on 22 May 2025. It is Deepal's largest and most luxurious model, a full-size three-row SUV at 5,205 mm long on a 3,105 mm wheelbase — competing with the likes of the Li Auto L9 and Aito M9 in China's rapidly growing premium EREV seven-seater segment.

The S09 is offered exclusively as a range-extended electric vehicle in rear- or all-wheel-drive configurations, both using a 1.5-litre turbocharged generator and a 40.18 kWh CATL LFP battery; 800V architecture enables adding 300 km of range in approximately 10 minutes of fast charging. The flagship cockpit centres on a pair of 15.6-inch OLED screens and a Huawei-sourced 43-inch heads-up display that replaces the conventional instrument cluster — a setup that drew widespread attention at launch.

By the end of 2025, 12,351 units had been sold in China, a modest but establishing start for the premium segment where Deepal had not previously competed.
