History

Production of the S07 (initially marketed as the Deepal S7) began on 31 May 2023, and it quickly became the brand's highest-profile launch. Within 40 days of its first deliveries the S07 exceeded 10,000 units — a milestone Deepal cited as an industry record — propelled largely by its integration of Huawei's DriveONE powertrain, HarmonyOS infotainment running on a Snapdragon 8155 chip, and a 12.3-inch head-up display.

The SUV is offered as a BEV with up to 258 hp or as an EREV pairing a 1.5-litre petrol generator with an electric motor; battery packs range from roughly 19 to 80 kWh. A 2024 update accompanied a rename to S07 and introduced the Huawei Qiankun intelligent-driving system. The S07 was the first Deepal model to be independently tested by Euro NCAP and ANCAP, achieving 5-star ratings in both programmes as well as a domestic C-NCAP 5-star result — a significant credibility signal for export markets.

Manufactured in China (Nanjing), Thailand (Rayong), and Indonesia (Purwakarta), the S07 passed 175,000 cumulative global sales by 2025, with meaningful volumes in Thailand, Australia, Mexico, and the Middle East. The Autocar UK test in 2024 called it the best Chinese car the magazine had driven to that point.
