History

Revealed in September 2024 and launched for the European market in late 2024, the Cupra Terramar replaces the Ateca as the brand's compact performance SUV. It is built on an updated MQB platform at Martorell alongside the closely related third-generation Audi Q3. Named after the Autódromo de Sitges-Terramar, a historic Spanish racetrack built in 1923 near the Cupra factory, it is offered with mild-hybrid petrol and plug-in-hybrid powertrains.

Cupra announced the Terramar would be the last new Cupra model launched with a combustion engine option, framing it as a transitional step before the brand completes its shift to electrification with upcoming models such as the Raval city EV.
