Anadol STC-16 History
History
The STC-16 was unveiled in 1973 as Turkey's first purpose-built sports car. Designed by Eralp Noyan, it wore a low, long fiberglass coupé body over a 1.6-litre Ford crossflow engine — a significant step up in displacement from the family models. The vast majority of the 176 cars produced were finished in a vivid shade known as 'Alanya Yellow', giving the model an instantly recognisable identity.
Despite its tiny production run, the STC-16 became the pre-eminent Turkish rally car of the mid-1970s, competing in domestic events and bringing Anadol its most visible motorsport successes. The combination of a lightweight fiberglass body and the more powerful 1.6-litre engine gave it a useful performance advantage over ordinary Turkish road cars of the period.
Production ended in 1975 after just two model years and 176 units — making the STC-16 one of the rarest Anadol variants today and a sought-after piece of Turkish automotive history.
