Anadol A8-16 History

The A8-16 (also sold as the A8-16 SL) was Anadol's last passenger car model, arriving in 1981 as a replacement for the long-running A2. It stepped up to a 1.6-litre Ford Pinto engine and offered a more contemporary interior, though it retained the brand's signature fiberglass construction.

Production was limited — only 1,013 units were built across the model's three-year run — reflecting the increasingly difficult position of domestic Turkish passenger-car production as import competition intensified. The A8-16 was discontinued in 1984, ending Anadol's saloon line; the Otosan pickup continued in production until 1991 under its own designation.
