History

Introduced at the March 2010 Geneva Motor Show, the Giulietta (Type 940) revived one of Alfa Romeo's most storied nameplates as a five-door hatchback replacement for the 147. It placed second in the 2011 European Car of the Year awards, and its MultiAir engines were voted best new engine in 2010.

A facelift arrived at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, and a further revision debuted at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, giving the car the frontal styling of the new Giulia sedan. Production ended on 22 December 2020, by which time 469,067 examples had been built. The Giulietta was not sold in the US market.
