Wolseley 18-22 Series History

The Wolseley 18-22 was the last car ever to wear the marque's name. Launched in March 1975 as the upmarket version of British Leyland's bold, wedge-styled ADO71 18-22 range (badged Austin, Morris and Wolseley), it paired Harris Mann's sharp new shape with the traditional Wolseley grille and illuminated badge.

It lasted only months: in September 1975 the muddled three-badge 18-22 range was relaunched under a single new name, the Princess, and the Wolseley marque was retired after 74 years. Only around 3,800 Wolseley 18-22s were built — the shortest production run, and the final chapter, in the company's history.
