VinFast VF 9 History

Unveiled alongside the VF 8 in January 2022, the VF 9 is VinFast's range-topping SUV — over 5.1 metres long on a 3,150 mm wheelbase, offering three rows of seating in 6- or 7-seat configurations. A 106 kWh battery feeds a dual-motor AWD system rated at 402 hp, with a claimed range of around 482 km (300 mi).

VinFast began Vietnamese deliveries of the VF 9 in 2022 and targeted the US for 2023, though actual US customer deliveries slipped to spring 2024. The cabin features a 15.4-inch central touchscreen integrating the instrument cluster, and Pininfarina contributed to the exterior design — elements intended to position the VF 9 against established three-row electric luxury SUVs. US pricing starts at $69,800.
