VinFast LUX SA2.0 History

Revealed at Paris 2018 alongside the LUX A2.0, the LUX SA2.0 was VinFast's prestige SUV — the larger, higher-riding counterpart to the sedan. It shared the Pininfarina design language and the licensed BMW mechanicals: the same turbocharged 2.0-litre engine producing up to 228 hp through an 8-speed automatic.

The SA2.0 gave VinFast immediate credibility in the fast-growing Vietnamese premium SUV segment and signalled the brand's ambition beyond budget transport. Production ran from 2019 to 2022, when it was discontinued as part of VinFast's pivot to electric vehicles.
