VinFast VF 7 History

First shown publicly at CES 2022 alongside the VF 5 and VF 6, the VF 7 is a C-segment compact electric crossover (4,545 mm long) positioned between the subcompact VF 6 and the mid-size VF 8. VinFast opened pre-orders for the Vietnamese market in December 2022 and made the first domestic deliveries on 30 March 2024.

A Plus trim adds a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain. VinFast has identified the VF 7 as its entry model for India, where local assembly is planned at a new Tamil Nadu facility, and it is among the models slated for US production when the North Carolina plant comes online (now targeted for 2028 after repeated delays). As of mid-2026 VinFast has not announced a confirmed US on-sale date for the VF 7.
