History

The VXR8 was Vauxhall's full-size performance saloon, a rebadged Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) car imported from Australia from 2007 to replace the Monaro coupe. It launched with a 6.0-litre LS2 V8 (around 411 bhp), later moving to the 6.2-litre LS3.

It was based on the HSV ClubSport from 2007 to 2009 and the HSV GTS thereafter, the supercharged GTS reaching well over 500 bhp. The line ended in 2017 when Holden closed its Australian factories; the final, fastest VXR8 GTS-R was a tiny UK-allocation send-off.
