Vauxhall Vectra History
History
The Vectra name reached the UK in October 1995 with the Vectra B, replacing the long-running Cavalier badge (mainland Europe had used 'Vectra' since 1988). It carried on Vauxhall's role as a mainstream fleet and family car, this time as a rebadged Opel Vectra.
The Vectra C followed in 2002 and ran to 2008, when it was replaced by the Insignia. Its performance halo was the Vectra VXR (2005–2008), a turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 hatch/estate producing over 250 bhp — the most powerful Vectra ever.
