Vauxhall Nova History

The Nova was the British-market badge for the first-generation Opel Corsa (Corsa A), sold by Vauxhall from 1983. While mainland Europe called it the Corsa, the UK used 'Nova' for its entire run.

It was a big seller — close to half a million found UK homes — and in its best year, 1989, it was Britain's seventh best-selling car. When the second-generation Corsa B arrived in 1993, Vauxhall finally aligned with Europe and dropped the Nova name in favour of Corsa.
