Troller Pantanal History

The Pantanal was Troller's only attempt at a pickup truck, launched in 2006 as an off-road-capable light commercial vehicle. It used a 3.0-liter MWM 16-valve turbodiesel producing 163 cv (120 kW) and 380 Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed manual with a reduction gear borrowed from the T4. The Pantanal was available in 4x2 and 4x4 configurations and, at launch, claimed the largest cargo bed in its class in Brazil, with a payload of 1,300 kg.

Production ended in November 2006 — the same year it launched — almost immediately after Ford's acquisition of Troller was finalized. Only 77 units were built in total. In February 2008 Ford recalled all 77 trucks due to the risk of chassis cracking; Ford offered to repurchase every vehicle, and the Pantanal was effectively removed from the market, making survivors extremely rare.
