Tauro Sport Auto V8 Portago History

Announced in 2014, the V8 Portago is a barchetta — a minimalist open-body roadster without a fixed windscreen — named after Alfonso de Portago, the Spanish aristocrat and Ferrari factory driver who perished in the 1957 Mille Miglia. The choice of name underscored Tauro's intention to evoke a golden era of European motorsport.

Mechanically the Portago shared the LS3 V8 and GM Kappa underpinnings of the rest of the Tauro V8 family. Like the Saeta, it was announced in the final period of the company's activity, and confirmed production figures are not available in the public record.
