Tata Motors Harrier History

Launched on January 23, 2019, the Tata Harrier sits between the Nexon and the three-row Safari in Tata's lineup. Its most significant engineering detail is its platform: the OmegaArc architecture, a re-engineered version of the Jaguar Land Rover D8 platform that underpins the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport — a halo benefit of Tata's 2008 JLR acquisition.

Powered by a 2.0-litre turbodiesel (initially 140 hp, later uprated to 170 hp in its 2023 facelift guise), the Harrier achieved five-star ratings in both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP crash tests, making safety a core part of its brand identity. A major facelift and the addition of a Harrier EV variant were announced for 2024–2025.
