History

Launched on January 22, 2020, the Tata Altroz is the brand's premium hatchback, built on the ALFA (Agile, Light, Flexible, Advanced) platform that also underpins the Tata Nexon. It targets the segment occupied by the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20 with European-style styling and a strong safety pedigree — the Altroz earned a five-star Global NCAP rating.

By its fourth anniversary the Altroz had sold over 240,000 units in India, establishing itself as one of Tata's most successful modern entries. Offered with petrol, diesel, CNG, and turbo-petrol powertrains across its life, the Altroz received a facelift in 2025.
