Tama Junior History

In 1948, Tokyo Electro Automobile Co. completely revamped the E4S-47's body and renamed the car the 'Junior'. The mechanical package — electric motor, lead-acid battery drawer system, two-speed rear-drive layout — carried over from the original 1947 car, but the all-new body gave the Junior a more modern appearance.

The Junior was positioned as the compact, affordable model in the emerging two-car line-up, targeting urban taxi operators and small commercial users. It continued in production until the company introduced a modernized four-door all-steel body in 1950 that was shared across both the Junior and Senior lines.
