Stoewer G15 Gigant History

The G15 Gigant was part of Stoewer's ambitious push into the luxury segment with eight-cylinder engines in the late 1920s and early 1930s, alongside the M12 Marschall and P20 Repräsentant. The Gigant used a naturally aspirated 4-litre engine developing around 79–80 PS at 2,450 rpm, good for a top speed of approximately 130 km/h.

Stoewer had begun building straight-eight models with the S8 and G14 in 1928; the G15 represented the apex of that programme. Combined production of the three flagship eight-cylinder models (G15, M12, P20) was curtailed at about 2,500 units as the Great Depression collapsed demand for luxury cars worldwide.
