Škoda Felicia History

Production of the Felicia began on 17 October 1994, with a premiere on Prague's Charles Bridge. It was a heavily reworked Favorit with new outer panels, a more modern front end, and a range of VW-sourced engines — making it both the last car on Škoda's own architecture and the first to incorporate Volkswagen Group components following the 1991 takeover.

More than 1.4 million Felicias were produced through 2001, and the model won Škoda the 'Best Manufacturer' award at the 1998 J.D. Power Car Survey — a signal that VW's quality uplift was already registering with buyers before the full VW-platform Fabia arrived. The Felicia was phased out during 2001 as the Fabia ramped up.
