Scion iA History

The iA was unusual for Scion in two ways: it was the brand's only sedan, and it was not a Toyota under the skin. It was a rebadged Mazda2 sedan, built by Mazda in Mexico, brought in for 2016 to give Scion an inexpensive small four-door with Mazda's 1.5-liter Skyactiv engine and a well-regarded chassis.

Like the iM, it lived just one model year as a Scion. When the brand closed it became the Toyota Yaris iA for 2017 (later simply the Toyota Yaris sedan in the US), and was sold as the Toyota Yaris sedan in Canada.
