Rambler Rambler Marlin History

Introduced mid-1965, the Rambler Marlin was a full-fastback two-door built on the mid-size Rambler Classic, AMC's answer to the sporty 'personal car' trend kicked off by the Mustang and Barracuda. It grew out of the earlier Tarpon show car.

The 1965–1966 Marlins wore the Rambler badge; for 1967 the car was redesigned onto the longer Ambassador chassis and sold as the AMC Marlin, off the Rambler name. Distinctive but a slow seller, the Marlin lasted only three model years total, with the Rambler-branded cars covering 1965 and 1966.
