Ram ProMaster City History
History
The Ram ProMaster City arrived for 2015 as a compact, car-derived van based on the European Fiat Doblò, slotting below the full-size ProMaster for buyers needing a smaller, more maneuverable work van. It used a 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder with a nine-speed automatic and was sold in cargo and passenger configurations.
Competing with the Ford Transit Connect and Nissan NV200, the ProMaster City was discontinued after the 2022 model year — leaving the segment of small commercial vans in the US nearly empty as automakers exited the low-margin category.
