History
The Ram 1500 TRX arrived for 2021 as the brand's answer to the Ford F-150 Raptor — a wide-body, long-travel off-road pickup powered by the 6.2-liter supercharged 'Hellcat' V8 making 702 horsepower, the most powerful engine ever put in a mass-production half-ton truck at launch. It claimed a 0–60 mph time in the low-four-second range despite its size.
Production of the V8 TRX ended with a 2024 'Final Edition' run; the last truck was built on February 16, 2024, as Stellantis wound down its big Hemi V8s in favor of the twin-turbo inline-six 'Hurricane' engine and electrification. Stellantis later confirmed the TRX nameplate would return: at the 2026 New York auto show it revealed a 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX powered again by the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8, this time making 777 horsepower.
